50,000feet is honored to participate in this year’s Noble Network of Charter Schools annual Winter Externship Program. Noble Network of Charter Schools is an open-enrollment public charter school network with seventeen campuses across Chicago and more than 12,000 students in grades 9 through 12. Noble’s mission is to become a catalyst for educational equity in Chicago that empowers students with the scholarship, discipline and honor necessary to succeed in college and to lead exemplary lives. Noble schools are free and open-enrollment; any student who completes 8th grade and lives in Chicago may attend. Every year, 99% of Noble seniors are accepted into college before they graduate high school.
The goal of the Noble Winter Externship Program is to provide Noble alumni who are enrolled in 4-year colleges and accredited Associate Degree programs with a realistic understanding of his or her chosen career field. The extern job shadowing experience provides an opportunity for students to explore career options for a major and to learn about the daily activities of an occupation in order to plan for future courses, internships and other ways to explore careers. 50k is proud to join many organizations throughout the Chicago business community who have participated in the Noble Schools program, including the Adler Planetarium, Allstate, Chicago Cubs, KPMG, Northwestern Mutual, the Robert R. McCormick Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, University of Chicago Urban Labs and University of Illinois.
